I’m a researcher for a group called Family Treasures Found, we acquire old photos and family heirlooms and try to locate, through genealogy, descendants to return the items to. I recently saw an old wallet for sale in one of the Facebook swap groups, it was filled with photographs and other miscellaneous things. I purchased it and was able to locate the gentleman it belongs to, he had passed nearly 50 years ago as did all of his children. He had been born in 1897 and his wallet which was from the 1970s was probably exactly as it was when he passed, including a two dollar bill amongst the items tucked into different spots of the wallet. I was able to locate a granddaughter, who is now 74 years old, she was thrilled with the whole situation and eager to have her Grandfathers wallet back, it even contained a photo of her young uncle who passed in World War II who she had never seen a photo of.
I stuck the wallet in the mail to her and thought that that was the end of the story until I saw the same person post another lot of goodies on Facebook that I quickly drove to his house to purchase. I knew right away when I had to see his pictures of the stuff that it belong to the same family and wanted to get that back to them as well. This batch of stuff including old report cards and several more larger photographs of family members. I sent this off in the mail to the wallet owners granddaughter as well and she was absolutely thrilled to receive it. I love being able to return these things to the families.

I have attached several photographs that were included in his things.
